The story of LUPII lui Calancea began long ago, in the days when childhood fairy tales blended with the reality of country life, where people turned into characters and possessed miraculous powers.

In 2017, LUPII lui Calancea were created out of producer, composer, orchestrator, and bass guitarist Alex Calancea’s desire to return to his roots, following extensive experience in several international projects. Moreover, the Wolf Guz, with his energy and unique vision, played a fundamental role in the project's inception, leading to the birth of the Wolves’ Anthem—“Inima Sălbatică” (Wild Heart). Lia, Alex’s wife and the project’s first manager, was the she-wolf who contributed her soul and visionary spirit, bestowing great success and a powerful connection with the audience upon the WOLVES.

Lupii lui Calancea—a pack of artists who fuse the deep roots of the past with the untamed energy of the present. Their music carries the patience of the ancestors and the voivodal spirit of the nation, awakening in the soul the tribal rhythms of the Dacians and memories of a time when nature and mankind were one.

The wolves from his grandmother’s and father’s tales fascinated young Alex, and over time, they inspired him to personify them and gather them into a true pack.

Serghei Ivanov is the one who adds a special shine to each of the Wolves’ songs. With his keyboard prowess, virtuosity, and unmistakable melodic sense, he enhances and reinvents every authentic piece, turning it into a unique experience.
